Turning wastewater into tomorrow's clean resource

WAWACS water and wastewater treatment plants

WAWACS offers a large variaty in individually designed and manufactured high-quality wastewater treatment systems.

Pumping stations

The pumping station consists of two or more pumps connected in parallel to double the flow rate while maintaining constant pressure. If one pump fails, the system ensures continued operation. Pumps alternate starting to extend their lifespan and minimize water stagnation.
An automatic control unit with a level regulator switches the pumps on and off based on the water level. The second pump is only activated during peak demands but can also be manually operated.
To avoid settling of solids, an agitator can be integrated. The agitator runs when the pumps are active or triggered by a timer. The pumps and agitator are efficient, energy-saving, and quiet

Sedimentation plants
batch systems

Flowrate: 0,5 - 2m³/h (higher flowrates on request)

Function:

  • COD reduction
  • BOD5 reduction
  • cracking of oil- and wax emulsions
  • heavy metal removal
  • detergents removal
  • organic and non-organic load removal
  • rubber, plastic and metal abrasion removal

System description:

The wastewater is first treated in a pre-treatment system that includes sedimentation tanks and an oil or grease separator. Emulsions are then pumped from a collection tank into the sedimentation system. Separation and flocculation agents are added to bind pollutants and break down emulsions. The pH level is monitored and adjusted with acid or alkali if necessary.
In the sedimentation reactor, flocs settle at the bottom while clear water forms above. The clear water is discharged via valves and a belt filter. Remaining flocs are transported to a container for further dewatering, and the purified water is either reused or discharged into the sewer. Sludge is dewatered using a chamber filter press or a decanter and then disposed of.
Monitoring units detect and report faults or material shortages, displaying alerts visually and acoustically. The system allows flexible adjustment of treatment times and efficient chemical dosing for resource-efficient operation.

Flotation plants
dissolved air flotation

Flowrate: 1 - 10m³/h
(higer flowrates on request)

Function:

  • COD reduction
  • BOD5 reduction
  • heavy metal removal
  • removal of organic and non-organic load
  • removal of suspended solids
  • removal of oil and grease
  • reduction of phosphate and sulphate

System description:

The waste water is first passed through a separation system consisting of a sedimentation tank and an oil separator. The emulsions are then transported from a collection tank to the flotation plant using a pump. During the entire process, the pH value of the wastewater is continuously monitored and, if necessary, adjusted.
In the plant, special cracking and flocculating agents are added and mixed evenly. This step leads to the splitting of the emulsions and the binding of the pollutants in so-called flocs. The flocs are then distributed in the water using a mixing process and attached to microscopic little air bubbles.
In the flotation chamber, larger macro-flocs are formed, which are transported to the water surface by fine air bubbles, where they are removed either by raising the water level or with a scraper.
The cleaned water from the flotation plant can either be reused in a recycling module or discharged into the sewer. The resulting sludge is dewatered using a belt filter, a chamber filter press or a decanter and then disposed of.

Industrial applications:

  • Washing water with cooling lubricant emulsions from the metal-cutting industry
  • Washing water from pipe production
  • Waste water from degreasing and cleaning processes in sheet steel processing
  • Waste water from car dealerships with parts cleaning systems
  • Waste water from floor cleaning machines
  • Production wastewater from bakeries and confectioneries
  • Paint wastewater from paint production or scenery painting
  • Waste water from the production of creams and skin care products in the cosmetics industry
  • Kitchen wastewater with lipophilic (fat-soluble)

Neutralisation plants
The system automatically treats process water. Fault messages, such as low chemicals, pH value limits being exceeded, motor issues, maximum filling levels, or lack of compressed air, trigger a shutdown.
Water is collected in a tank, and a level sensor controls the supply pump. The pH value is measured and regulated if it deviates. Dosing pumps add sodium hydroxide or sulfuric acid, which are mixed by an agitator to adjust the pH level. At the end of the process, the pH value is checked again and recorded.

Industrial applications

  • Chemical and laboratory operations
  • Cream and skin care production from cosmetics industry
  • Alkaline washing systems
  • Acidic washing systems

Tailor made control panels and PLC programming

Slude dewatering

Band filter
The band filter works either as a freestanding system to separate particles from the water flow, or in addition to a complete treatment plant for sludge dewatering.
Automatically operated gravity band filter with automatic take in and transport of filter cloth

Chamber filter press
Wet sludge is drained under pressure. Water and solids are separated. Recommended equipment for industrial complete
treatment solutions to reduce disposal costs.
